Day TWENTY- Fill me up!

Day Twenty= Fill me up.
While at dinner I ordered my usual cup of coffee. I captured this picture while Bree poured- I LOVE IT!

Day 19- Full Bloom

Today I spent the afternoon wandering Luthy Botanical gardens. Clearly spring is on its way, things are blooming all over. I am not sure what this is but I found it to be beautiful. I love the gardens, I cannot wait to go back in a few weeks.

Day EighTEEN - Can't We All Get Along?

Day 18- Can't We All Get Along?!?!?
I love this picture! I caught this spur of the moment tonight as my sisters dogs were "duking" it out. Well...actually this is how it went down...Stormy the Jack Russell on the right was trying to sleep and Sierra the yellow retriever on the left who is a pup wanted to play. Stormy was letting her know to back off- Sierra could have cared less!!!! They are too funny!

Day 17 - R & R

Day 17- R&R
This is a bit out of order, but as soon as we got to O-H-I-O the kids were asking "When can we go swim at Aunt Lori's work?" So true to form this trip provides the best kind of R & R for the kids- SWIMMING at the REC CENTER! :) Yes my girls could have swan all night!

Day Six-TEEN Snack Time

Today while we were at my niece's lacrosse game, Anna and I went on a little walk. it is amazing what you can discover on a bit of a walk. We found these beautiful horses having a bit of a morning snack. They were beautiful! I love this current shot, it captures the intensity of mealtime for this creature.

Day Fifteen- Team Talk

Day 15- Team Talk

I love this shot! Today the 4th grade girls had one final game in the IB tournament. They were playing for 5th or 6th place. These girls played their hearts out, trying until the end. The amazing thing about this group- this particular team was formed about 3 weeks ago. They did quite well for having not played together for very long.

The girls have a GREAT coach- he really works with the girls and everyone gets play time, which is important when you are still learning.

Here the coach is talking them through what they should be doing for the 2nd half. They are intently listening to him! :)

Day 14- Break-Out

Day 14- Break-Out

This building we drove by it on our way home from Saturday's game. The broken out windows just make me wonder. My girls and I were talking about how cool this would be to photograph. They even thought...if the walls could talk mom and tell us what it's like to have no heat, AC, or anyone keeping them company. Love that thought. What do you think?

Day 13-It's Clear to see...

Day 13- It's Clear to See

I am cheating just a bit because I am behind. I just could not resist the shots I got from this old abandoned building in Bartonville. Every shot I got was different and tells a different story. The broken buildings and vines are so interesting to me. It makes the building look so decayed and forgotten.

Day 12- One Step at a Time...

Day 12- One Step at a Time...

This is one of my favorite shots! Oh my goodness, I knew I was in luck when I stopped here to take pictures-but this turned out better than I imagined. My ten year-old suggested the steps...way to go Madi!

We were on our way home from Mapleton and I HAD to stop at this old abandoned building...this is what I got. :) Love it!

Day - WHAT? E-L-E-V-E-N

Day Eleven- Good Morning Sunshine! :)

Ok so I am Waaaay behind on this. First I was sick and then I had to get caught up at work.
So this shot is from out bedroom - out the frech doors. The sun was coming up and the day was going to be warm and SUNSHINIE! If you look carefully you can see the red sun coming up just below the trees- it is peeking its wee face out. :)

Day 10- These Boots...

Day T-E-N...these boots are made for...SNOW baby!!! Once again scouring the halls for something to share and these boots were calling my name! These guys were in the hall so lonely for some attention. How many times do we see these sitting around and not pay much attention to shoes or boots?

I love the contrast of these in black and white. So simple.

Day N-I-N-E: It's Tough to be Little!

Day Nine- Oh my it's really tough to be little! Today I took my photography kids around the building as they were trying to capture images for their "Black & White" assignment. We stopped in the Bright Futures room for a bit. Oh goodness, they are so adorable! I just loved watching them play, smile and lick their runny noses! :) I miss that age! (Wait did I really say that?)
Ok back on track, so I captured this little girl- she was playing in the "housekeeping" area with another little girl. I am not sure what this lip is all about but it speaks A THOUSAND words! LOVE IT!!!!! <3>

Day E*I*G*H*T- Dinner?

Well here is day Eight- yes a day late. Oh my was my booty tired last night!! Yes, I was considering having THIS for dinner! I stood and stared at my pantry- WHAT to eat?? Nothing looked good- ever have a night like that? It was eight pm or something absurd like that and I really didn't want to eat a darn thing- but that persistant stomach of mine kept telling me otherwise.

Needless to say, I settled on leftover rice with some taco meat and salsa. I was pretty good. But the soup- well the cans looked cool through the lens at least. :)

Day SEVEN- Take Me Home...

Day seven...WOW! It has been a week already?!? Oh boy only 51 more to go... lol Yes I must laugh at myself, that will be the only way to see the humor in the madness!

Today was a tough decision because I got a great shot of some little munchkins getting on the bus at the end of the day- OH they were SOOO cute. However, after editing and thinking it over-I chose this picture. This is taken from Gilles Rd- overlooking I-74 during the afternoon traffic. I love the shadows from the cars and how they were spaced around this semi-truck. Also if you notice the car passing the truck...it is almost over the line- like it is scared of it or something. Funny thing watching these cars. Yes it was about 7 degrees outside so I was frozen and I did accidentally step on a decapitated frozen bunny (RIP little guy) - but well worth the cold air! :)

Day S-I-X Orderly Chaos

This picture is inspired by my ten year old daughter Madelyne who WILL NOT clean her desk! I keep asking her to clean her desk top off and she seems to think that it is just fine. This is a photo of the top or near the top of her desk. I call this orderly chaos because she can find whatever she needs in the mountain of "junk".

I thought that with this photo I have proof that this is the way it looks and can look back and show her what a mess her stuff REALLY is. :)

Day FIVE- Taking Flight!

I captured this photo while driving home on Gilles and there it was. It was one of those- Quick- snap it moments. I really didn't think the picture would be anything. BUT....like my friend Kristi told me sometimes after playing around with the picture it might surprise you.

This one REALLY did! I think this turned out pretty cool. :) Enjoy!

Day F-O-U-R ~ Don't Fence Me In!

Today we went to my parent's house to take pictures. I had taken my sister's kids pictures in December and my mom wanted the same backdrop of my girls to frame. I had been waiting for a day that it wasn't raining, snowing or below zero. Well...today was the day! It was actually rather nice. The girls had a blast running through the snow! :) It was fun!

As I was entering their neighborhood- the image below captured me. I drive by it hundreds of times a year. But today it looked different. So, I knew when I was leaving I was going to capture this spot. It was a bit challenging since it was on Charter Oak Rd and the traffic can be a pain. but after I turned around on Frostwood and literally parked on the side of the road and turned on my hazards- this is what I got.

Yes- it is the tell tale Weaver White Fence. It seems like a landmark or something to me- it has been etched in my brain for years and my kids associate it to grandma and grandpa's house. I wish I could capture winter in a fence and throw it away. I do love this- the white fence, white snow and bare trees. If I take this again same spot this summer- it will present a completely different look. That is the amazing thing about the seasons!

Day Three - Deserted

I thought it was going to be hard to go back to work and continue this, but remembering that I spend one class every other day doing this- EASY! Today my students and I took a walk outside and tried to capture "WINTER" I suppose with 15 inches of snow on the ground it was EASY to do.

What was hard for me? Choosing just ONE! I got so many great shots with the kids as they were shooting they did a little playing and that is where I captured my favorite shots! Today was one of the most entertaining and "feel good" days yet.

I captured this photo of the empty swings. I named it "Deserted" because these swings were just that- all alone and forgotten about.

Day Two- Mmm, Mmm, Good!

This morning my girls asked me to make them something special for breakfast. Since my mom had given me this coffee cake mix, I thought it was the rightfully yummy thing to do on a snow day. So, after convincing Anna that there was in fact NO COFFEE in this breakfast cake (Oh YES- cake for breakfast- she squeals in delight!) I proceed to make it. Once it came out piping HOT, and I cut the girls a piece- I thought it looked yummy enough to snap a pic. Enjoy- we did! :)

Day 1 - Take me home

This is where is all begins right? It is tough to choose that first photo since I took so many. I made the decision last night to begin this- but am officially entering it into BLOG form today. How in the world to I pick? I took over 300 shots. I think that my decision is based on the fact that I have driven past this barn many, many days out of the week. I have always wanted to take a picture of it. But today I was in the passenger seat and I had my camera. Yes, this is the one. I love how this paints the picture of the "country" for me. Then, you add in all the snow- it is just gorgeous. The sky was white, it was a perfect shot.
